| Spring time is here! |
|
Thank goodness the spring has arrived! It's been a long, cold winter -
especially in Manchester! I had to cut the grass at home yesterday so
spring is definitely here. It's now just light as I start out on my journey from Northampton to Manchester and I am seeing some impressive sunrises.
We had a family Easter with everyone over on Easter Sunday for roast lamb (my fav) an easter egg hunt for the I am glad to write that Sale are doing better now after having lost 8 matches in a row. It didn't help having the internationals out playing in the 6 nations, but we can all make excuses. At the end of the day we weren't playing well enough and you have to accept that to move on and improve. With two home match wins over the last three weeks, confidence is on the up and we are now 6 points above bottom place Worcester after beating them 17-3 last Friday night. We are coming toward the end of the season now and I am looking forward to some time off and maybe having a holiday away somewhere warm and sunny. I shall also be busy round the house and stables with pressure washing and painting and keeping the grass and foliage under control. Six weeks later, summer training starts again but it is good to have a long break to rest and heal after a busy season. One of my little girls has broken her leg and has it in full plaster so that is proving a challenge. At two and a half it is difficult to explain why she needs to not walk on it. She's being pretty good really but night times have been a bit tricky. Hopefully it will come off in a couple of weeks. It was great to meet some of the Ben Cohen Gold Members after the match on Friday. I hope they enjoyed the evening. I have read the emails they have sent and it seems everyone had a good time. Jill kept everything under control being bossy as normal!! :-) Two people came from Denmark and two from France! I was amazed! You can see some of the photos below. We will be running the meet again for members next season if it is something members would like. Best to let Jill know. Well done to David from Bristol who won the competition for the canvas print. I signed it on Saturday morning and it should be on it's way now. We will be selling them in the shop if you would like one. I really like it as it is unusual and has that posterized effect on it. I went to watch a football match in Fulham a few weeks ago. Uncle George used to play for Fulham when he was a Football World Cup Winner. It was a great day and nice to be able to be a spectator for a change. Thanks again for all of your support in my first season back in the UK. Best wishes Ben

kids... and the grown ups actually. Easter Monday was business as usual for me with training ready for another home match this coming Friday against Saracens. That will be a big test for us but there is no reason why we cannot come away with a win, especially with the Edgeley Road crowd behind us. Their support has been fantastic.
